Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Emerge Learning different?

At Emerge Learning, we don’t believe every participant should follow the same program. Instead, we build learning experiences around each person’s goals, interests and strengths. At Emerge Learning, we don’t follow a one-size-fits-all plan. Instead, we build programs around what matters most to the person.

Benefits include:

  • Personalised learning: Every program is tailored to individual strengths and goals.
  • Higher engagement: Participants are more motivated because they help shape their own learning journey.
  • Real-world skill building: Life skills are taught through meaningful, everyday experiences.
  • Flexibility: Our approach adapts in real time to support progress at each person’s pace.
  • Holistic growth: We support not only practical skills but also social, emotional, and personal development.

This approach helps participants build confidence, independence, and real-life capabilities in ways that feel natural and empowering.

What is your learning approach?

Our programs combine evidence-informed educational approaches that encourage curiosity, independence and meaningful participation. Depending on the participant’s goals, our approach may include:

  • Reggio Emilia
  • Emergent framework
  • Play base learning
  • Role modeling experiences

Can I meet my support worker before starting?

Yes. Where possible, we arrange an introductory meeting so participants and families can get to know their support worker and ensure they’re a good fit before regular supports begin.

Do you work with families and other professionals?

Yes. We believe the best outcomes come through collaboration. With your consent, we can work alongside parents, carers, schools, therapists and other professionals to support consistent goals and learning.

How do you keep participants engaged?

Every program is built around the participant’s interests, strengths and goals. We know that meaningful learning happens when people are motivated by what matters to them, so we adapt activities to suit each individual’s learning style and preferences.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes. Emerge Learning is a registered NDIS provider. We welcome participants who are NDIA-managed, plan-managed and self-managed, depending on the supports being provided.

Do you provide Meals?

Yes. Participants generally bring their own meals and snacks. Some programs include cooking activities where participants prepare and enjoy food together. We do our best to accommodate allergies and dietary requirements where possible.

How do I enrol?

Getting started is easy. Contact us through our enquiry form, phone or email to arrange an initial conversation. We’ll discuss your goals, answer your questions and help determine the most suitable supports.

Do you offer individual and group supports?

Yes. We offer both individual supports and, where suitable, small group learning experiences. Recommendations are based on each participant’s goals, interests and support needs.

What qualifications and experience do your staff have?

Our team brings a diverse range of qualifications and experience across disability support, early childhood education, community participation and capacity building. We carefully match participants with support workers whose skills, experience and personality best suit their goals and preferences.

How are support workers matched to participants?

We take the time to understand each participant’s goals, interests, personality and support needs before matching them with a support worker whose experience, skills and approach are the best fit.
